KBD / Keyboard / 101

About a year ago the faithful and reliable part of the computer was impaired by a splash attack from a near by beverage.  During that time, I was the mercy of a standard keyboard.  The type where you really had to press down on a key for it to do anything.

This time around though, I thought I would attempt to try out something new and compare it to a name that I have known for a longtime.   These are the keyboards that I picked:

Logitech RGB G810 Orion Spectrum Mechanical

Das Keyboard 4 Professional

You can read all about the different technologies and their specs via the links.  After using them both for a week each, I decided it was time for a change and am now using the Das Keyboard 4 Pro.  I like how quiet it is, how little pressure it take to press a key; however I will miss not having a backlit keyboard.

UPS Woes and Comic Book shipments

Last week’ comic book shipment arrived on New Comic Book day vs the day before as a result of residual lag from the holidays. [This is what I was told]  This week’ shipment is also being delayed by UPS due to, “incorrectly sorted the package at our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay.”

I am sorry about this, but as soon as the shipment arrives, I sort through it as quickly and as accurately as possible.

Fallout 4 Update Disabled Mods: How to Fix

Double check that your:

C:\Users\[usernaame]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini

Also that your:

Is not set to ‘Read-Only””’

Thanks add back in the names of your .esp files or if you are using Nexus Mod Manager, go to the plugins tab and click the check boxes of the mods that you want re-enabled.

Let me know if this doesn’t work for you. – Andy

Fallout 4: Disable Vsync / Laggy Mouse possible fixes

For those that might be suffering from frame rate issues and or a laggy sluggish mouse, this is what I did to fix it.  [your mileage may vary]

Mouse Acceleration Fix in Fallout 4

Mouse acceleration appears to be on by default in Fallout 4. To remove it you will need to open your Fallout4.ini (C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\).

Scroll down to [Controls], and under this add the below line:

Next open up Fallout4Prefs.ini also in (C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\) and under [Display] add:

Next go to the second Fallout4Prefs.ini located at wherever you installed steam then open steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4, and under [Display] once again add:

Note: this will not remove it from menus or similar, but it removes it from ‘within’ the game.

Unlock Frame Rate / Disable VSync

The following is a possible work/fix [verified when I made the changed] to remove some miucrostutters.

The below is how to unlock your frame rate if you have this 30fps cap:

To unlock frame rate open Fallout4Pref.ini (located at C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\). Note making a backup isn’t neccessary as if you simply delete Fallout4Pref.ini the game will auto generate new one next time it is opened.

Search for the line iPresentInterval=1, and change it to iPresentInterval=0

Next to re-enable vsync got to the nvidia/amd control panels and enable vsync via the hardware.

How to change the game FOV.
In Fallout 4 it appears that you will need to change three files, there are two files called Fallout4Prefs.ini in two different locations and one called Fallout4.ini, all three need to be changed as below.

Firstly go to your Fallout4.ini (loacted at C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\) and under [Display] put the below:

* where XX is you desired fov in third person.
* where YY is the desired fov in first person.
I have set mine both to 100 for now.

Next go to the Fallout4Prefs.ini and do the same directory as above (C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\), under [Display] put:

* where XX is you desired fov in third person.
* where YY is the desired fov in first person.
Again, I set them both to 100.  The great thing, if it doesn’t work or you don’t like it.  You can make tweaks as you go.

Next go to where you installed steam then open steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4 (a folder called Fallout 4 is in another folder called Fallout4, how many levels deep does this go 😉 ). Next open the Fallout4Prefs.ini here and once again under [Display] add the below:

* where XX is you desired fov in third person.
* where YY is the desired fov in first person.
Again, 100 for the vlaues.

After making these changes, if you make changes in-game [under Interface] , the above changed will be changed back.
Your FOV should now be changed for both first and third person. 🙂

Finally to change you gun model (and pip body fov) do the below.
If you find your pipboy to be to small, press ~, the type fov XX, where XX would be the size of the pipboy screen you will want and you might have to go back and forth a couple of times.  Next type in refreshini, doing so will make it so your game will not revert to the default fov. Next press ~ save your game and from that point on you should be set

Howard the Duck #1, the seventh-best-selling comic title in comic stores in March (and the seventh-best-selling Marvel), sold nearly 86,000 copies, or around 17% more than the best-selling DC, the videogame tie-in Batman Arkham Knight #1, which sold around 73,000.

Up at the top of the chart, it looks like Star Wars is going to settle over 150,000; the third issue racked up over 161,000 copies in first-month sales in the #2 slot, almost identical to the sales of #2.  That would make it the #1 title in many months, giving Marvel another franchise title with reliably strong sales.

The first issue of Princess Leia was the top title in March, with over 253,000 copies sold, a hair below Darth Vader #1 last month, but continuing a string of huge launches in the Star Wars family for Marvel.
